How Nikola works

Nikola helps you meet people across Malawi — in your district or nearby — with Discover, match, and chat. The app is in English.
1. Create your profile
- Sign up with email or a Malawi phone number
- Add your name, date of birth, gender, and who you are interested in
- Choose your district and add clear, recent photos
- Write a short bio, pick interests, and optionally answer profile prompts
- Complete the compatibility quiz in Settings to improve match quality
2. Discover
Swipe on people who match your preferences. Use filters for age, district, near me, and dealbreakers. Look for the ✓ verified badge. You can undo a recent swipe (within daily limits).
3. Match & chat
When you both like each other, it’s a match. Chat with text, photos, voice notes, and reactions. Read receipts show when messages are sent, delivered, and read.
4. Calls
From a chat, start a voice or video call. If no one answers, a missed-call note appears in the conversation so you can follow up.
5. Stay safe
Report or block anyone who makes you uncomfortable. Never send money. Meet in public. Use Date safety in Settings when you plan to meet offline. Get help anytime via Support in your Matches list.
